Amsterdam
June 5-6, 2008 (Thurs - Fri)

Arriving by train in mid-afternoon, I found my berth at the St. Christopher's Hostel in the old city just outside the Red Light District.  It is a rambunctious place with relatively inexpensive high-speed internet terminals.  Although sick during (and sleep deprived) I explored the RLD in the afternoon, had a fondue dinner, and played hearts with fellow hostellers until we were kicked off the patio at nine.  Zu Bett.

In the morning I took the Free City Tour, practically the only city tour available.  In the evening I took the Red Light tour.  Both were quite interesting.

Only a few hours of sleep before I had to make my way back to Schiphol and fly to Istanbul.
